A grand opening event for the bar will be held starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The event is open to the public.

News Channel 11 spoke with the executive chef of Watauga Brewing Company, Todd Dawn, who said customers can expect new faces serving their food and beverages.

“Well, we started off from scratch again, sort of a reboot,” Dawn said. “We brought in several new chefs and a whole new staff. We started out phase one with our brewpub, and now we’re to bask in our rooftop bar and dining.”

Dawn told News Channel 11 that the company hopes to attract many guests to the new bar this summer.

“This is the second phase,” Dawn said. “So, it’s bringing us into our own, giving us a little more experience, getting our staff up to speed. I’m looking forward to a good summer up here.”

Mark Larkins will perform at the grand opening from 6 – 10 p.m.

Watauga Brewing Company is located at 142 West Market Street in Johnson City.
