A-Basin's Festival of the Brew Pubs Returns Memorial Day Weekend

Arapahoe Basin, CO, asks guests to join them for their Festival of the Brewpubs to sample "some of the best beers Summit County has to offer."

The event—scheduled for May 26th—welcomes summer, bidding the winter season goodbye, and will have "super scenic beer sampling" with plenty of breweries to choose from in the base area (A-Basin will keep spinning its lifts til June).

The purchase of a $40 ticket gets guests a festival mug and unlimited tastings.

Officials at A-Basin have noted that this event is rain or shine, and there will be no refunds if the weather changes.

Shayna Silverman, Communications Manager of Araphoe Basin, informed us that the resort will have an extensive line up of local breweries including Steep, Outer Range, Angry James, Dillon Dam Brewery, and Highside Brewing. Plus some of our national partners like Sierra Nevada, Oscar Blues, Pika, Long Drink, Hoghead, Ska, Wonderland, and Telluride.

Importantly, all patrons are required to bring a valid government-issued photo I.D. Officials at A-Basin wrote, "we cannot use your ski pass to verify your age. If you purchased multiple mugs, each person must pick their mug up in-person and bring their government-issued photo I.D."

Additional mugs may be purchased day-of starting at 11:00 a.m. in the Season Pass Office (and there is one mug per person per I.D.)

More rules include the timing of the event. The breweries will open the taps starting at noon and will "turn them off promptly" at 4 pm.

The festival committee also requires guests to keep their wristbands on at all times. "Sharing your wristband is cause for removal from the festival." All alcohol must be consumed within the "Festival Grounds.”

There will be a clearly-defined perimeter which will remind everyone where the boundaries are. Officials of A-Basin ask people not to bring their own alcohol to the event, and to definitely not drink and drive.

Otherwise, this will be an amazing event to head into summer. Who says the end of ski season is all bad?
