This new bakery for dogs will host opening event this weekend in downtown Columbus

Pup parents across Columbus can spoil their pets this weekend as Three Dog Bakery holds its grand opening.

The bakery for dogs initially launched in February, but will host an official opening event Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Three Dog Bakery at 1106 Broadway offers fresh baked treats made in-house along with other dog supplies.

During the opening event, residents can meet dogs up for adoption and support a donation drive benefiting local rescues.

Free giveaways are available for the first 20 customers, and customers can take part in other activities including art projects, temporary tattoos and a raffle. A specialty cookie for the event will be on sale while supplies last.

Customers are encouraged to bring their social dogs with them to the bakery, a news release said, but pet parents are reminded that the pups must be leashed.

Owners Tracy and Joey St. John are longtime Columbus residents who previously worked with dogs and other pets while living in Atlanta.

Their prior experience and love for dogs — along with having worked with the franchise JumpBunch — made the Three Dog Bakery brand appealing for the couple. As dog owners, Tracy and Joey wanted to bring an experience for dogs downtown.

“The reception from our community has been amazing since we opened in February,” Tracy said in a news release. “We can’t wait to officially celebrate with our new four-legged and two-legged customers!”
