Atlanta Firefighter Saves Tiny Kitten Lost on Freeway
There's nothing as heartwarming as a kitten rescue, and one that recently took place in Atlanta was a pretty harrowing ordeal, especially considering where this tiny kitten was discovered.

The amazing video, shared by the TikTok account for @dinoatl, has everyone in the comments cheering this heroic rescue. @Niki comments, "She looked back like she was waiting for you." @Lina replies. @Evergreen adds, "Can't imagine the absolute terror that little kitty was feeling. Love happy endings." @Kylie also encountered this kitten and responded, "I’m so upset with myself for not pulling over when I saw it there Monday. I prayed for a sign and here it is, omg I can’t not believe this."

@Netro asked, "Did it get abandoned there? Because how did that little thing get up there?" The account holder replied, "We don't know how it ends up there. We passed the cat two times, running calls, and every time, we couldn't believe how it ended up there." Rescuing a kitten from a busy freeway like this can be amazingly dangerous, so if it's not safe for you to stop here are some other steps you can take.
What to do if you find a stray kitten.
If it isn't safe for you to pull over, you should pull over at the next exit and call your local animal control or Humane Society. As heartbreaking and frightening as it is to leave an animal on the side of the road you shouldn't risk your own life trying to save a cat if it's unsafe to do so. If you are able to pull over, grab a towel or rag or extra shirt from your automobile to wrap the kitty in. This will protect them and help warm them in inclement weather and also protect you from any bites or scratches you may receive.
Either stop at an emergency veterinarian or call your local vet for the soonest possible available appointment. It's important to make sure the kitty isn't suffering from any diseases or illnesses. You can also take your rescue to your local animal shelter. Even though shelters appreciate people following the proper intake procedures, if you are unable to keep the cat they will understand that this is an emergency due to where the cat was discovered.

If you decide to keep the cat.
Congratulations! You have been chosen by the cat distribution system! You should follow the same steps above, and try and put the kitty in an article of clothing or towel to protect yourself and the cat. Make a veterinarian appointment for as soon as possible. Keep the kitty warm and secluded from any other animals in the house until you can make sure the kitty is free of any diseases and you have time to socialize your new fur baby and the other animals in the house. Check the kitten for fleas and contact your vet for the best way to treat the cat. Offer plenty of clean water and food, and a fresh litter box that you change often.
One thing I found so remarkable about the above rescue is that kitten is the sort of adorable dream kitten anyone who is looking for a kitten would be thrilled to adopt. It's pretty rare to find a long-haired white kitten, much less a stray one, and the account holder sweetly posted that the kitten was adopted by one of the firefighter's moms.
