Asa Vermette Breaks Pelvis At Tennessee National

Asa Vermette is a rider that many are excited to watch. Last season, before he was even old enough to race World Cups he became a household name beating American pros in continental races.

Unfortunately, the young phenom crashed in his race run at Saturday’s Tennessee National and broke his pelvis. See his team's update below.

Asa was on a heater after qualifying first before when he slid out and broke his Iliac crest. Watch his run from the event's broadcast below.

Frameworks announced that the University of Tennessee Medical Center said recovery would be 8-12 weeks. Thankfully he will not require surgery.

This means that Asa will likely miss the early rounds of his first World Cup season. 12 weeks from the injury would put Asa back on the bike a couple of weeks before the Les Gets World Cup in early July, should he be ready. Thankfully for Asa, Frameworks is committed to being patient for his recovery.

Asa Vermette is a 17-year-old racer from Durango Colorado. He rose to prominence with strong results at Downhill Southeast races and The US Open. In 2022, Vermette was picked up by Neko Mulally to be a part of his Frameworks project.
