Armored Core 6 Is Getting A New Gundam And I Just Can’t Wait
Armored Core 6 Bandai model kit
If there are two things that I absolutely love, it’s big old mechs and tiny little model kits. There’s something special about seeing big, earth-shaking, stompy mechs all broken up and putting them together on a miniature scale. Now, there’s a new model kit on the way that draws inspiration from the most obvious source ever.
Bandai, the creator of some of the most popular model kits like Gundam, has shown off a new addition to its 30 Minutes Missions series, the Schneider Nachtreiher from Armored Core 6. It makes sense in hindsight, since Bandai Namco is pretty heavily involved with Armored Core as its publisher, and it’s not the first of its kind.
Bandai has released Armored Core model kits in the past, and some of them have been pretty great, but this Nachtreiher is on a whole other level. The Nachtreiher is already one of the best-looking mechs in Armored Core, and seeing it in model form is absolutely great.

The model kit was first announced late last year, but details were sparse up until now. Now we have a release date – September 2024 – and a price. The kit will set prospective buyers back 3850 yen, or about $25 USD, although after shipping fees you’re probably looking at $35 from importers.
The 30 Minutes Missions series is a great line of figures too, being quite easy to put together and pretty sturdy too. The name refers to how long it takes to put together — Bandai says every figure in the line takes 30 minutes or less to construct, compared to some more complex kits that can take hours.
It’s a good time to be a fan of geeky toys, though, as seen with the upcoming Monster Hunter Zoids which are coming later this year. We also saw a pretty amazing new Digivice at Digimon Con, although unfortunately not much else was revealed at the show.
