The annual Cribbs Kitchen Burger Cookoff is back in town, with 16 teams prepping their grills to raise money for Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas.

This tasty event brings together a talented community of local chefs, hamburger enthusiasts and passionate community members for a friendly competition.

Cribbs Kitchen Burger Cookoff was first hosted in 2015 and has since been an annual event of fun, delicious food and philanthropy. The competition has raised over $530,000 through out the eight years, with plans to continue raising more.

"Children’s Cancer Partners helps more than 2,300 children battling cancer in the Carolinas," said Aly Ruggiero,CCP Communications. "Providing food, travel, and lodging to children and their families so they can receive the best specialized care for their specific case. We’re hoping this year will raise the most money since this is our biggest event yet!"

What to know about Cribbs Kitchen Burger Cookoff

The fun begins on Saturday, May 4, at noon, on the corner of West Main Street and Daniel Morgan Avenue. The event ends around 5-6 p.m., or until there are no more burgers to try.

The event features a panel of judges to crown the ultimate burger chef of 2024, but the community decides which team wins the People's Choice Award. Don't forget to vote for your favorite burger after you've sampled all the tasty treats.

Live music and other family-fun activities are also included at the event.

Here is the lineup scheduled for the Burger Cookoff:

  • Echo Operative, noon-1:45 p.m.

  • The Audibles, 2-3:45 p.m.

  • The Revival, 4-5:45 p.m.

Tickets cost $10 per sheet during the presale and will increase to $12 per sheet on the event day. Presale locations include:
