Anne Hathaway Shines in a Teeny Minidress Covered in White Sequins and Gold Studs

Anne Hathaway brought the party to the world premiere of her new film, The Idea of You, at South by Southwest on Saturday, in an ensemble that was sequins and shimmer galore.
The Devil Wears Prada star walked the red carpet at the Paramount Theatre in Austin in an outfit that proved your best glittery fits need not be saved only for New Year’s Eve. The centerpiece of her look was a teeny-tiny opulent white minidress that featured thick straps, a wide V neckline, rectangular gold studs arranged in a chevron pattern below the bust and along the hem, and small sequins that covered every inch of fabric. Hathaway shined like the star that she is, as her frock glimmered in every direction as it caught the light. She accented the Patou creation—from the fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection—with strappy, open-toe platforms with a tall chunky heel, plus a diamond tennis necklace. She kept the glow going with her makeup, which included champagne eye shadow, rosy blush, and a cranberry lip, and styled her chestnut locks down and straight.
Hathaway plays 40-year-old single mom Solène in the Michael Showalter–directed rom-com. The story follows Solène’s unexpected romance with Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the 24-year-old lead singer of boy band August Moon.
Later in the day at SXSW, Hathaway and the rest of the cast spoke about the movie. For the engagement, she changed out of her little white dress and into something more casual: a white top with a wispy feather peplum, bootcut jeans with two different denim washes, and sparkly pale pink pointed-toe stiletto heels.
Hathaway has been loving a shimmery moment lately. In February at the 39th Film Independent Spirit Awards, she dazzled like a disco ball in a Valentino halterneck jumpsuit completely covered in milky-white sequins and tiny crystal embellishments.
