Ankle socks at the gym are out, says Gen-Z

For a few years now, Generation Z, or Gen-Z, has been coming for the styles of Millennials.

These unprovoked attacks often come in the form of TikTok videos where they slam their fashion and hairstyle choices.

The latest casualty of this- ankle socks.

For two decades, Millennials and other age groups rocked ankle socks to give a barefoot look while also keeping tootsies protected and warm. However, that is now a sign that you’re old, especially if you wear them to the gym.

TikToker Phoebe Parsons posted a video showing how you can tell if someone is a Millennial or Gen-Z, at the gym just by looking at their feet.

“Are their socks up or are they wearing hidden ankle socks?” she asks. “Gen-Z exclusively wear their socks up and Millennials still wear ankle socks.”

It didn’t sting so bad, Parsons showed that she’s a proud Millennial rocking her ankle socks.

Gen-Z, or Zoomers, have also canceled skinny jeans and side parts in hair.

To see where you stand, Pew Research considers those born between 1981 to 1996 as Millennials. Those born between 1997 to 2012 are considered Gen-Z.

However, some reports say those born in 1980 are considered Millennial.
