Angie Harmon and her family were left reeling after their Instacart delivery driver allegedly killed one of their pet dogs in cold blood during a grocery drop-off over the weekend.

The Rizzoli & Isles alum took to Instagram late on April 1 to share the devastating news, posting several photos of the late pup, Ollie, in tribute as she explained that the man "got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot our dog."

Unfortunately, the family's security camera was visibly off of the cradle while it charged inside, and the man reportedly told police that he killed the dog in "self defense" despite Harmon alleging there was no evidence to support it, such as scratches, bite marks, or ripped clothes. The man is currently not facing criminal charges.

"He shot our dog with my daughters & myself at home & just kept saying, 'yeah, I shot your dog. Yeah I did,'" she wrote. "We are completely traumatized & beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy & family member."

In a follow-up statement on her Instagram Story, Harmon, 51, addressed the driver directly, calling him "despicable and inexcusable."

She continued, "You’ve not only robbed us of a beloved member of our family but you’ve also traumatized us beyond measure. The fact that someone could commit such a heartless act is beyond comprehension to me and I’m devastated that I didn’t get to say goodbye to him."

Harmon also shared a screenshot of her receipt, showing that the driver was working for the delivery service under a false identity — a woman named Merle — leading several commenters to suggest she pursue civil charges against the man and the brand for its failure to protect its customers.

The company responded to the ordeal in a statement shared directly with Parade, confirming that the driver's account had been suspended as a result.

“We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident. We have no tolerance for violence of any kind, and the shopper account was immediately suspended from our platform," Instacart explained. "We have been in direct contact with the customer and are cooperating with law enforcement on their investigation.”
