American McDonald’s Fans In ‘Pain’ Over Limited Release of the Cadbury McFlurry

McDonald's McFlurry is seen on a table.

McDonald's brought back a truly delightful McFlurry flavor, but to the dismay of stateside fans, the seasonal menu item is only available overseas.

The Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry officially returned to select McDonald's menus this spring, but to get your hands on one, you'll have to travel to Canada or the United Kingdom.

After learning the frozen treat has made a comeback–but only outside of the U.S.–fans have taken to social media to express their discontent, and we see why. It sounds like a pretty good use of one of Cadbury's most iconic candies.

Made with vanilla soft serve blended with pieces of milk chocolate and swirled with sweet Cadbury Creme Egg fondant, the McFlurry is then "all whipped together for a decadent cool and creamy dessert."

Fast food influencer Snackolater shared an image of the limited release on Instagram, along with an opinionated caption questioning why the brand has yet to bring it to its U.S. market, writing, "Look at how beautiful that McFlurry is and how it just screams Easter... and I don't know why this can't be made in the US as well."

The sentiment was later reverberated in several comments from fellow Mickey D's enthusiasts.

"WHY IS IT ALWAYS OTHER COUNTRIES," one disappointed fan exclaimed.

"i’m starting to feel like they hate the us," another joked.

"Nah this pain," a third shared in part.

Someone else admitted the sweet treat looks worthwhile enough to take a trip over the border. "That looks like the best McFlurry 😍," they wrote. "I need to make a drive up to Canada to get one."

Even Australia-based franchise locations offer a variation, the Cadbury Caramello Chocolate McFlurry. According to the official description, it features the "ultimate combination of Macca's velvety chocolate soft serve, topped with Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate flakes and a drizzle of smooth, flowing Caramello sauce."

While American consumers seem torn up over the lack of Cadbury-inspired items, the nationwide burger joint announced the limited return of its iconic mint green Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock McFlurry a few weeks ago. It also revealed it's launching a savory new sauce for fans who prefer spicy over sweet.
