American Bully Mom Gives 'Freeloader Pup' the Cutest List of Chores

If you're raising a "house hippo" (aka, Pit Bull type dogs) then you'll know that they love their downtime. But that doesn't mean that they should get to lay around the house all day, right? Well not according to one pet owner, who gives her American Bully "chores" to make him earn his keep.

The pet owner shared a video of the many tasks they make their pup do.

We guess everyone has to contribute to the household somehow. Unfortunately for the dog, whose name actually is Hippo, his paw-rents are pretty darn strict.

For instance, poor Hippo has to make sure that the laundry "doesn't get cold." He's also their own personal "unlicensed therapist," "supervises" all of their repairs, and is basically an alert system for intruders (like the mailman or Amazon delivery person).

In fact, the dog does so much around the house it's almost easier to list what he doesn't do. He's practically the backbone of the household.

People in the comments section agreed that Hippo was one hard-working pup. "Doing his part and earning his keep. That's the goodest boy," one person commented. "He needs a raise... that's a very hardworking man!" someone else praised. "Poor baby doing ALL the work," teased another commenter. "Petition to give this man a paid vacation and a raise," chimed in someone else.

Types of Pit Bulls

While Hippo is definitely one of a kind, the American Bully is actually one of several breeds that are under the umbrella category of Pit Bulls. In fact, Pit Bulls aren't technically even a breed! It's just a general name for a variety of dogs that share similar characteristics. Like Hippo, an American Bully.

These dogs are known for having short, muscular builds. They tend to have broad heads, deep chests, and are medium to large in size. The American Pit Bull Terrier might be the Pit Bull that people are most familiar with. These dogs tend to be loyal and affectionate with their humans.

The American Bully is very similar to Pit Bull Terriers, except that they have a slightly different build. Bullies are much broader, are more compact, and have a wider head. When responsibly bred, these dogs are gentle.

American Staffordshire Terriers have high prey drives, which means they don't always get along with other dogs. However they are known for being good natured when with their families.

American Bulldogs are so similar to their English cousins, but these pups are technically part of the Pit Bull family.

All of these dogs are great and loyal pets. Just make sure they stay on top of their chores like Hippo's mama did.
