Amazing Interaction Between Owl Siblings While Getting Ready to Hunt Is Beautiful to Witness

Imagine being a photographer and looking to snap a few pictures of owls, when you stumble across an amazing interaction between two juveniles getting ready to hunt. @Colton Lockridge is an 'aspiring' wildlife photographer in Canada who's posting a photo every day for a year on his Instagram account. Lucky for us, he posted this video in September, and I can't quit watching it!

The video starts with a focus on two owl siblings on a tree branch. The two appear to be kissing, play fighting, and cleaning each other. They're both very gentle and it's beautiful to see!

@Colton goes on to explain in his caption what we're actually watching happen between the two siblings. He explains that the two gorgeous owls are play-fighting and preening each other before going out to hunt. He points out (and I missed it when I first watched it) that if you look closely, they interlock their talons too. He said that there was a total of three juveniles and a fourth nearby. He also adds, "To think I wasn't going to go out that day."

Commenters were also very taken with this video of the owls. @carlasjeans shared, "My 4 yo daughter can’t get enough of this video. I can’t either!" @vartist said, "This is when you know the value of the work of that lonely photographer going out on their own wandering into the unknown." @ionadreamgirl added, "Amazing, magical, sacred almost. There are no words."

@michael_thepannist had my favorite comment, "This video has literally changed the trajectory of my mood. Thank you so much for what you do." I couldn't agree more with this statement. People who capture life's moments and can change our perspective have such a gift. Thank you for sharing, Colton!
