ALDI Has a New Sparkling Water Flavor That I Can’t Stop Drinking

My whole family loves it too.

Besides coffee and tea, seltzer is my drink of choice, especially in warmer weather. My husband and son also love seltzer so we go through, on average, two to three cases a week.

Though my husband picks up brand names when he shops, I usually buy Belle Vie sparkling water 12-packs at ALDI, which come in traditional flavors like lime, lemon, grapefruit, strawberry, and blackberry.

ALDI's slightly higher-end seltzers, Belle Vie Bold, come in more adventurous flavors like blackberry cucumber, pineapple strawberry, and cherry lime, and cost a bit more—$3.39 for eight vs. $3.79 for 12. I buy these when I want to treat myself.

Recently, ALDI debuted a new seltzer line called Belle Vie Summer, and the flavors—Fruit Punch, Mango Pineapple, and Strawberry Kiwi—called to me.

What I Love About Belle Vie Summer Sparkling Water

Though Belle Vie Summer costs ten cents more than Belle Vie Bold, at $3.49 for eight cans it’s still a bargain for flavored seltzer.

The first flavor I tried—Fruit Punch—convinced me that this is an affordable luxury I’m going to buy all summer long. A blend of cherry, lime, and orange (at least according to the fruit illustration on the can) this seltzer tastes like something Waterloo Sparkling Water would make.

Fruity and refreshing, the bubbles danced across my tongue. It tasted almost like a sparkling water version of Hawaiian Punch.

Of course, I had to try the other two flavors, which I also enjoyed. As for my favorite, it’s a toss-up between Fruit Punch and Mango Pineapple. My son prefers the Mango Pineapple, and my husband loves all three.

How I Serve Belle Vie Summer Sparkling Water

These sparkling waters are made to grab and go. I drink them when I’m writing, and I take them with me when I’m driving a certain someone to gymnastics practice. For an even more delicious and fun sparkling water experience, use a pretty glass and add ice.

My son's expert opinion is that these sparkling water flavors are perfect pairings with various gummy candies. He has tried them with gummy peaches, gummy bears, and gummy Life Savers, and he also thinks that sour candies would pair well.

For adults, they’re great mixers for cocktails and mocktails.  Add a bit of citrus juice and a dash of bitters, and you’ve got a fantastic three-ingredient mocktail (note that most bitters contain alcohol).

Add some vodka for a flavorful vodka and soda. Add tequila, lime juice, and a touch of grapefruit juice—especially with the mango pineapple flavor—and you’re in Paloma territory. Muddle mint, sugar, and rum before adding the sparkling water, and you have an amazing stand-in for a mojito. Just leave out the rum for a mockjito or nojito.

This new seltzer collection is so delicious I hope it becomes a permanent addition to the ALDI lineup.
