Aldi Is Selling a $7 Storage Basket With a Bamboo Lid So Similar to a Crate & Barrel Style That's Almost 10x the Price

Having an organized house is a must if you want less clutter and stress. However, sometimes you have to sacrifice style for function because a lot of affordable storage bins just aren’t cute. Necessary, but they don’t usually vibe with the aesthetics of your house. But Aldi’s newest storage basket is not only a good size but has a very clean, trendy look that goes for almost 10 times the price at Crate & Barrel.

Starting April 3 through April 9, the Aldi Finds section of the popular budget grocery store is adding the Huntington Home Basket with Bamboo Lid to its home goods section. For $6.99, you get a storage basket that measures 13.78 inches long, 10.24 inches wide and 8.43 inches tall, with a stylish wooden bamboo lid.

Huntington Home Basket with Bamboo Lid, $6.99 at Aldi

Aldi’s basket comes in black and white, with the same lids for both. It’s not airtight or waterproof because it has a grid pattern and two handle cut-outs, but it is a good option if you’re looking for a decent-sized bin with lids. This bin is about the size of the 13-inch cubes that fit in those cube organizer shelves, just shorter.

This style of storage bin—solid color with a bamboo lid—is sold at places like Crate & Barrel for a lot more. Their Outline White Medium Metal Floor Bin with Wood Lid is $69 and is 14 inches by 14 inches and 10.25 inches tall. The large size is $99, but the medium is very close to the size of the Huntington Home basket.

There’s also The Container Store’s version, which is a very similar design to Aldi’s. Their SmartStore Large Nordic Basket Charcoal comes in a few different sizes, with the 14-inch x 11-inch x 8-inch tall bin being $11.99. It has the same ventilation holes and what looks to be a similar material, but the SmartStore Nordic Basket Lid Bamboo is sold separately at $9.99.

Lastly, At Home has a nearly identical storage bin to Aldi’s with its 2-Pack Grey Storage Container with Bamboo Wood Lid, Large. This size is nearly the same size as Huntington Home’s, at 14 inches x 10.4 inches x 8.7 inches tall and costs $21.99 for a two-pack. This is made out of plastic and has the same stylish bamboo lid.

Considering all the options out there when it comes to a trendy, aesthetically pleasing storage bin with a bamboo lid, Aldi’s seems like the perfect choice. But if you can’t get there the week of April 3, then there are other options out there that aren’t too out of budget!
