Adult Film Star Emily Willis’ Family Shares Difficult Health Update

Over a month after adult film star Emily Willis was first hospitalized, her family is now sharing a complicated update regarding the improvements in her health.
Her stepfather, Michael Willis, who raised Emily as his own, told TMZ on March 29 that she is now awake but remains in a "vegetative state." Still, the family underscored that there have been some significant wins regarding her overall health, noting that she can now track things with her eyes, smile, and has even become emotional during conversations.
Unfortunately, Michael also told the outlet that the 25-year-old's doctors don't anticipate her improving much more beyond the strides she's already made.
The exact cause of the cardiac arrest that left her unconscious and in critical condition when she was hospitalized in early February has yet to be identified. While initial reports suggested an overdose, her medical team said a toxicology report found no traces of drugs in her system at the time.
Emily's health horror story began suddenly on Sunday, Feb. 4, when she was transported to a hospital in Thousand Oaks, California, from a well-known rehab in Malibu, where she appeared to be seeking treatment for substance abuse. Shortly after first responders arrived on the scene, her family was told she was fighting for her life and to prepare themselves for the worst possible outcome.
She was later reported to be in a coma and on a ventilator, though her condition has stabilized in the roughly eight weeks since she was hospitalized.
"With hearts heavier than we ever imagined possible, we find ourselves reaching out for support and care for our beloved Emily Willis—a cherished daughter, sister, and a beacon of light in the lives of all who know her," Michael wrote in a statement shared with a GoFundMe aimed at supporting Emily's medical expenses and the family's travel bills. "Recently, Emily's world, and ours, was turned upside down when she was admitted to the hospital, marking the beginning of an incredibly tough and unforeseen battle. With every ounce of her remarkable strength and bravery, Emily is fighting."
