Adaptive Riders Shred The San Francisco Streets In New Edit

In recent years, the sport of adaptive mountain biking has received much more visibility enough that there are now dedicated companies innovating adaptive bikes.

Watch Cole Bernier and Gustavo Ortiz shred the streets of San Francisco in a new edit below.

In this video, Ortiz and Bernier rode down stairsets and carved through the steep streets of San Francisco. To end their session, they stopped at a local pizza joint. Nothing like a day of riding and then some 'za!

This video is incredibly cool because it shows the technical innovation in the world of adaptive bikes. The Bowhead Reach is a technological marvel. The wheels can lean in different directions, allowing the bike to corner tremendously.

There is also about 115 mm of travel in the rear. The Bowhead's ability to carve down the road and absorb stairsets like they are nothing demonstrates their capability.

Another nice detail about these bikes is that they max out at 20 mph like a standard e-bike. Though they do not fall into the legal classification of e-bikes, they share a max speed, which will hopefully allow for harmony on the trailside, provided other users are respectful which is not always a guarantee.

It is amazing to see companies innovating to allow riders to stay out on the hill after injury.
