Abby Huntsman says Amy Klobuchar's sexism accusations are a 'nail in the coffin' for her campaign
Presidential hopeful Sen. Amy Klobuchar says sexism is what’s keeping her from ranking higher in the polls.
Klobuchar criticized fellow candidate Pete Buttigieg’s experience, telling CNN’s Jake Tapper, “I’m focusing here on my fellow women senators — Sen. [Kamala] Harris, Sen. [Elizabeth] Warren, and myself. Do I think we would be standing on that stage if we had the experience that he had? No I don’t. Maybe we’re held to a different standard.”
The View co-host Abby Huntsman weighed in, saying she feels Klobuchar’s sexism accusations won’t help her campaign and might just put an end to it entirely. “The minute you start using racism and sexism I think that’s sort of a nail in the coffin for your campaign,” said Huntsman.
Panelist Joy Behar also disagreed with the sexism label, pointing out that a recent poll indicated voters would choose a woman over a gay man. “A recent Gallup Poll said that 97 percent of Democrats were willing to vote for a woman, and only 83 percent were willing to vote for a gay candidate,” she said.
Behar added, “So this idea that she’s behind the 8-ball because she’s a woman doesn’t exactly hold up when it comes to Buttigieg.” Behar also said she feels Klobuchar comes across as “too careful” in her interviews.
Viewers took to Twitter to share their opinions on Klobuchar’s comments, with some saying she was right on the money:

But others disagreed, and thought the candidate has other issues that are hurting her campaign:
To those who say Amy is “DAMN RIGHT!” - no she isn’t and here’s why : If this was sexist @ewarren wouldn’t be in the top tier AHEAD of Biden! It’d because Warren’s energy and message is resonating with Americans. Quite frankly @amyklobuchar is forgettable! #TheView

Oh shut up @amyklobuchar he’s doing better in the polls cuz he deserves it. You’re nowhere qualified to be president and you do horribly in the debates and u have no drive. That’s why you’re not winning.
