50 bars and restaurants have opened so in Louisville this year: See the full list

Louisville's restaurant scene continues to boom. The city saw more than 130 restaurants open in 2023 and who knows how many will open or close in the year ahead.

Fifty new spots have opened so far in 2024, including a once-closed Champagne bar, a Korean tea and coffee shop, and two pizza joints.

Take a look below at the list of restaurants that have opened so far, and ones we know are on the way. We will keep updating this list as the year unfolds.

Restaurants that opened in Louisville in 2024

1. Al’s Table Restaurant — 830 Phillips Lane. This new restaurant opened in May as part of a huge renovation at the Crowne Plaza in Louisville.

2. Anko Sushi — 304 W. Woodlawn Ave. This new sushi restaurant with weekly specials opened in January at The Streatery, a food hall in the Beechmont neighborhood.

*3. Ata — 4864 Brownsboro Road. Chef David Danielson purchased the restaurant, formerly known as Anoosh Bistro, after chef Anoosh Shariat retired and renamed it Ata.

4. Baked AF — 1010 Goss Ave. The bakery from the team behind Breakfast AF and Pizza AF, two restaurant concepts that share the same space at 1008 Goss Ave., open in Germantown in early May.

5. Bamboo Coffee & Donuts — 2400 Lime Kiln Lane A1. This new coffee and donut shop opened in early 2024 and focuses on craft coffee and cake doughnuts with flavors such as Old Fashioned, Blueberry Buttercream, Maple Berry, Triple Chocolate Donuts, and more.

6. Bar Grale — 1036 Bardstown Road. Bar Grale, a wine bottle shop and bar with a wine garden, opened in late May next to Holy Grale, the beer-focused bar and restaurant located in a former church.

7. Beehive Bakery — 1613 Bardstown Road. Beehive Bakery, serving Mediterranean French pastries, held its soft opening in early June. Situated across from Uptown Cafe in the Highlands neighborhood, the new bakery offers chocolate eclairs and croissants, among other sweet items.

8. Blak Koffee — 2820 W. Broadway. A second location of this coffee shop opened inside the nonprofit’s West Louisville Opportunity Center in March.

9. Boone’s Deli — 10414 Watterson Trail. This spot in Jeffersontown's Gaslight Square opens June 17 and serves sandwiches, soups, and sides.

10. Bottle Shop & Tasting Room — 207 St. Preston St.  The 1,200-square-foot Bottle Shop & Tasting Room opened in late April. Customers can try pours of a wide collection of bourbon, whiskey, and tequila, as well as glasses of wine and fresh-made cocktails.

11. Cafe Kiwa — 2235 Frankfort Ave. This Korean coffee and tea shop opened in January in the Clifton neighborhood.

12. The Champagnery — 1764 Frankfort Ave. After a year-long closure, this bar specializing in Champagne and sparkling wine reopened in early January with an expanded drink and food menu.

13. Chef Shaq Kitchen — 2300 W. Market St. A second location of this popular spot opened in early May. Popular items include chicken sandwiches, chicken wings, and meals with catfish or codfish sandwiches.

14. Chick-fil-A — 962 Breckenridge Lane. The chicken chain opened its “Springs Station” spot in early April 4.

15. Chicken Salad Chick — 7900 Shelbyville Road. The fourth Louisville-area location of Chicken Salad Chick, billed as the nation's only fast-casual chicken salad restaurant concept, opened in April 24 in St. Matthews.

16. Chipotle — 1620 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana. The chain opened its first location in Jeffersonville in February and it includes a drive-thru pick-up lane.

17. CM Chicken — 2221 Frankfort Ave. This Korean fried chicken restaurant opened in March and also serves boba tea and Korean street food dishes.

18. Cosmic Bird — 916 Baxter Ave. Cosmic Bird features vegan items, including its popular vegan fried chicken, fish sandwich, mushroom burger, Impossible meat sausages, onion rings, and burritos. It opened in the Highlands in mid-February.

19. Costa del Sol — 818 W Kenwood Drive. This Latin restaurant opened in mid-January 2024 in the Colonial Gardens in south Louisville.

20. Craft House Pizza — 816 West Kenwood Drive. The sixth location of this area pizza chain has opened at Colonial Gardens.

21. Crave Cafe and Catering — 3703 Johnson Hall Drive. This catering company opened in early 2024 in a renovated space on the lower level of The Olmsted.

22. Crumbl Cookies — 291 N. Hubbards Lane. Another Louisville location of this popular cookie chain opened in St. Matthews on Feb. 14.

23. Crumbl Cookies — 4901 Outer Loop Suite 101. This popular cookie chain continues to grow in Louisville. Its newest spot in Jefferson Commons opened May 3, becoming the fifth Crumbl Cookies in the Louisville area

24. DiOrio's Pizza & Pub — 7507 River Road. The restaurant marks DiOrio's third location, adding to its pubs in St. Matthews and the Highlands that specialize in hand-tossed, New York-style pizza. It officially opened in early 2024.

25. Dog Haus Biergarten New Albany — 415 Bank St., New Albany, Indiana. Dog Haus’ serves gourmet hot dogs, sausages and burgers served on grilled King’s Hawaiian rolls, as well as breakfast burritos, corn dogs, fried chicken sandwiches, wings and chicken tenders. It opened in late May.

26. Drick's Treats Café & Bakery — 10616 Meeting St, Prospect. This bakery, which serves artisanal pastries and aromatic coffees, opened in Norton Commons in March.

27. Earlybird Bagel Shop — 1039 Ash St. The grab-and-go bagel shop opened in late March March. Because of its small-match nature, Earlybird will offer weekly flavors along with breakfast and lunch sandwiches using local ingredients.

28. Elderberry Provisions — 3909 Chenoweth Square. Elderberry Provisions, which provides catering and gourmet to-go lunch, dinner and bakery, opened April 9 in the former Cheddar Box location in St. Matthews

29. The Food Lab — 2781 Jefferson Centre Way, Suite 2, Jeffersonville, Indiana. The Food Lab, a fast-casual Korean restaurant, opened in late May in Jeffersonville. The menu features boba drinks, Korean rice bowls, poke bowls and ramen dishes.

30. Goshen Mercantile Company Taproom — 11936 W Highway 42, Goshen. This spot opened in April and has numerous beer offerings on tap from nearby breweries, such as TurnStation Brewing in Prospect, Scout & Scholar in Bardstown, and Gallant Fox in Louisville. Food options include a hummus plate or beer cheese plate, pasta salad, a toasted hoagie and handmade thin-crust pizza

31. Hi-Five Doughnuts — 1940 Harvard Drive. This doughnut shop has relocated to Douglass Loop. It opened in February.

32. Hokkaido Ramen & Sushi — 818 W. Kenwood Drive. This Asian restaurant serves ramen, sushi, and other Asian dishes, as well as bubble tea and sake, at its location in Colonial Gardens. It opened in February.

33. Hop Atomica — 1318 McHenry St. A brewery, distillery and pizzeria is expected to open in Germantown.

34. I Love Tacos — 400 S 2nd St. I Love Tacos opened its newest location inside the Omni Louisville Hotel in downtown Louisville in February. It's located in the hotel's Falls City Market, and it's the fourth location for the popular eatery.

35. Jin Doshirak — 211 S. Fifth St. This Korean and sushi restaurant is scheduled to open in February.

36. Kiwami Ramen — 1700 Bardstown Road. An Asian fusion restaurant opened in May in the former space of Wild Ginger Sushi Bistro,

37. LuCretia's Kitchen — 617 W. Oak St. This soul food and barbecue restaurant, known for its “Love at first bite” motto, opened in March in the former site of Daddy Rich’s space in Old Louisville.

38. Marco's Pizza — 3831 Ruckriegel Pkwy. This popular pizza chain opened a location in Jeffersontown in January.

39. The Misfit Lou — 119 S. 7th St. The Misfit Lou, a bar and restaurant with a stage for events downstairs, opened in early 2024 in the downtown building formerly occupied by Jimmy Can't Dance and Another Place Sandwich Shop. The downstairs cocktail lounge is called The Hereafter.

*40. Moka & Co. — 1541 Highland Ave. This popular coffee and tea shop in the Highlands rebranded from Haraz Coffee House to Moka & Co. in the late spring.

41. Mango Tango — 1433 Bardstown Road. Mango Tango will serve doughnuts and hot dogs, according to a sign on the door. A grand opening is set for May 18.

42. Parlour Pizza — 901 E. Liberty St. Parlour Pizza announced its sixth location is set to open on Jan. 29 at the Falls City Beer taproom in NuLu, marking a "collaborative restaurant venture" for the two establishments.

43. Phalcha Coffee — 1001 Mary St. This Nepali coffee shop, which opened in early March in Germantown, serves purple drinks, ice cream, and "good vibes."

44. Senora Arepa — 928 Baxter Ave. This Venezuelan restaurant, with another location in St. Matthews, will take over the former home of Taco Luchador in the Highlands Both restaurant concepts are owned by Olé Restaurant Group.

45. Seven Cocktails + Bourbon — 815 E. Market St. A new bourbon and cocktail bar opened in early January at NuLu Marketplace in the space formerly occupied by Buff City Soap.

46. Spinelli's Pizzeria — 574 S. Fourth St. This local pizza chain is returning downtown with a location on Fourth Street. It opened in late February.

47. Subway — 9470 Brownsboro Road. A Subway location that closed in Springhurst Towne Center in June 2022 reopened near the Paddock Shops in January.

48. Taco Rico — 519 Oak St. This Mexican restaurant, which has an extensive breakfast menu, opened in January.

49. Ten20 Craft Brewery — 1400 Main St., Clarksville, Indiana. This popular craft brewery opened its first Southern Indiana location inside a 3,400-square-foot taproom on Jan. 19.

50. Top 1 Korean BBQ & Hotpot — 1803 Bardstown Road. This Korean barbecue restaurant opened in the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville in early January.

Restaurants coming to Louisville in 2024:

Here are the restaurants that have been announced to open around Louisville:

1. 7 Brew — 4217 Shelbyville Road. This drive-thru coffee shop is expected to open in July.

2. Andy's Frozen Custard — 11600 Shelbyville Road. This quick-service frozen dessert business is opening its first Louisville location in 2024.

3. Atomic — 1125 Bardstown Road. This bar with a patio and game yard is expected to replace a laundromat that previously occupied the Highlands spot.

4. Bar Nada Nada — 829 E. Market St. The owners behind The Breeze Wine Bar and Spirits and the Canary Club, 1247 S. Shelby St., have had their eye on expanding their love for interesting wines and products into NuLu. Bar Nada Nada should open sometime over summer 2024.

5. Bojangles— 2717 S. Hurstbourne Parkway. A new structure will be built at this address for the first Louisville location of the Bojangles franchise.

6. Bojangles — 4023 Poplar Level Road. A second location is in the works for Louisville.

7. Bubba's 33 — 10435 Southpointe Blvd. A burger, pizza, and beer restaurant is planned for Louisville.

8. Clean Eatz — 9545 Taylorsville Road. Clean Eatz will open its fourth location in Jeffersontown, near Kingpin Lanes, in late June.

9. Crust & Crumb — 6301 Meeting St. Crust & Crumb, an artisan baking business, is expected to open in June on Meeting Street in Norton Commons.

10. Derby City Pizza — 2224 Dundee Road. A location of this growing and local pizza chain is taking over the former space of Dundee Tavern in the Highlands.

11. Derby City Pizza — 2976 E. Tenth St., Jeffersonville, Indiana. A location of this local pizza franchise is expected to open in 2024 in the former Pizza Hut space.

12. Donatos Pizza — Locations TBD. The pizza franchise plans to open two locations, one in Middletown and Jeffersontown, sometime in 2024.

13. El Taco Loco — 9606 Taylorsville Road. This taco restaurant is excepted to open in Jeffersontown later this year in a space vacated by the former FDKY BBQ spot.

14. EST 1927 by Marigold Catering Company — 2035 2. Third St. A new concept from The House of Marigold owners will move into a space at the Speed Art Museum, after the closure of Wiltshire At The Speed. The cafe should open by the summer of 2024.

15. Franny’s — 998 Goss Ave. This new seafood restaurant specializing in fresh oysters is scheduled to open in Schnitzelburg in late 2024.

16. Goldie's — 829 E. Market St. This new bar, near Grind Burger Kitchen in Nulu, is registered to Chelsea Moore, with the Breeze Wine Bar. It's expected to open in 2024.

17. Heard — 1601 Story Ave. A new bar and restaurant will open in the former Gold Bar and Butchertown Social space. The bar is expected to open in spring 2024. It was previously going to be named The Sphinx.

18.  High Stakes Grill — 710 East Jefferson St. This American restaurant is set to open in late July on the rooftop of the new Tempo by Hilton Louisville in downtown Nulu.

19. HWA Korean Grill Kitchen — 1164 S. Third St. A Korean grill is opening in Louisville sometime in 2024.

20. Inside Job Brewing Co. — 1031 S. Sixth St. The brewery previously known as Oldham Brewing Co. is changing its name and moving to Old Louisville.

21. J Bell Wine Co. — 2704 Frankfort Ave. A new wine room is coming to the Clifton neighborhood, adding to a long list of spirits-focus locations. It will sit between Margaret’s Fine Consignments and The Shop, a craft beer bar and bottle shop. It will also be a short walk from The Wine Rack, 2632 Frankfort Ave.

22. The Last Refuge — 600 E. Market St. A first look at The Last Refuge, the multi-concept venue from Heaven's Door Spirits, is coming soon. When the doors open of the former Refuge of Kentucky Church, you'll see a renovated space including a restaurant, whiskey bar, and live music venue

23. Limon y Sal — 2222 Dundee Road. Mexican restaurant Limon y Sal is planning a second location to open in the former Hammerheads in the Highlands.

24. Monk’s Road Boiler House — 131 W. Main St. Log Still Distillery plans to open a high-end restaurant and tasting room, called Monk’s Road Boiler House, in June.

25. Nu Restaurant Bar Rooftop — 811 E. Market St. This rooftop bar is planned for NuLu.

26. Oishii Ramen — 12472 La Grange Road.  A new ramen establishment is opening in Louisville's East End in mid-February. The new location will serve rice don — a rice bowl with meat and a sauce — make its broth and also sell bubble tea.

27. Patisserie Francaise Louisville — 1355 Bardstown Road. This new bakery near the Highland Mart convenience store and the restaurant La Chasse is expected to open in the spring.

28. Peach Cobbler Factory — 801 W. Broadway. A third Louisville location of Peach Cobbler Factory is opening in downtown Louisville.

29. Roll-Em-Up Taquitos — Location to be announced. This Southern California-based taquito fast-casual restaurant chain is set to open its first Louisville location in 2024.

30. The Sake a Go Go — 620 E. Market St. A new Japanese-inspired restaurant serving sushi and sashimi is set to open in NuLu in 2024.

31. Steak & Bourbon — 115 S. Fourth St. The Olé Hospitality Group plans to open a new location of Steak & Bourbon downtown at 115 S. Fourth St., near the intersection of Fourth and Market streets, in July.

32. Trellis Brewing — 827 Logan St. A new brewery and taproom is planned to open in Smoketown.

33. YachtSea — 111 N. Wenzel St. Inspired by nautical and tropical themes, this Butchertown spot hopes to offer an escape-type vibe and is on track to open by summer.

34. Witches Brew Coffee — 1813 Frankfort Ave. This locally-owned coffee shop offering metaphysical items and tarot card readings is expected to open in 2024.

35. Wolf & Stag Barbeque — 6006 Shepherdsville Road. This new restaurant, serving Kentucky-style pit barbecue, is coming soon, according to its Facebook page. Just in time for the summer season, Wolf & Stag will serve barbecue and burgers, among other items.
