8-Month-Old Puppy With Three Legs Finds Her Perfect Home After Recovering From a Car Wreck

For many rescue dogs, life only gets better after puppyhood. Whether they were saved off of the street or surrendered by someone who couldn't care for them, puppies often find their perfect forever home once at the shelter. After all, many people who are looking for a dog would prefer to adopt a younger one--which is great for pups, even if not-so-great for older shelter dogs.

Sometimes, though, a shelter puppy may face extra challenges that make it hard for them to get adopted. In Florida, one Pit Bull puppy named Pecan was left with only three legs after a car accident, and she had quite a long recovery. Despite her injuries, though, this dog's resilience and joyful spirit helped her find a forever home before her first birthday. It's the sweetest thing @humanebroward has posted in a while!

Congratulations, Pecan! Her new mama seems so very happy to take her home, so we can only imagine the kind of pampering she's getting as she continues recovering from her injuries. Being carried to the car seems like a fantastic start!

It's also worth mentioning just how happy this rescue Pittie looks as she hops into her new mom's arms. Her tail is wagging so fast, and the smile on the pup's face is priceless! As amazing as the shelter volunteers at Ft. Lauderdale's Humane Society of Broward County are, it's about time for this dog to begin her new life.

It seems like only yesterday that she arrived at Humane Broward, but in reality, it was still just a week ago.

To see the progress she's made in just a few days is the most inspiring thing, and we can only imagine how well she'll be running around a few months from now. Congratulations, Pecan, on how far you've come! You deserve every moment of love and happiness that come your way.
