My favorite thing about stopping at Aldi (besides the unbeatable prices) is checking out its home goods section. I’m still fairly new to the store, but I already have a small stash of finds I enjoy regularly: the Serra City Tote that’s perfect for packing up a quick snack bag for the family, and the $5 marble candle pedestal that sits in my kitchen. (I wish I’d gotten more of those!)

I hadn’t been to Aldi since the weather had gotten warmer, but I recently met my daughter there to pick her up after school. I went inside to pick up the makings for my kids’ favorite taco salad (Frito knockoffs at a fraction of the cost, Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, ground beef) and just had to swing by the home section. Sure enough, it did not disappoint.

Sitting in the aisle was a summertime must-have that’s perfect for any (or all!) of those plant babies you can’t help but bring home: the $7 Belavi Decorative Planter. Similar plant stands can cost twice as much or more, and this one is classic enough to fit in with any indoor or outdoor decor. The stand is matte black and about 18 inches tall. It can fit a plant up to 8 inches in diameter and has a decorative band above the portion where the plant sits that helps secure the plant on the stand.

For once in my life I didn’t actually need a plant stand, so I didn’t bring it home with me, but I’m rethinking that decision. Plant stands are such a nice way to make a smaller-size plant seem larger and infuse a room with personality. They’re also a great way to add interest to a group of plants by introducing varied heights that help create a leafy tableau. Outdoors, a few well-placed plant stands holding ferns or a pot of colorful flowers can transform a basic outdoor space into a lush little oasis.

Honestly, if you’re anything like me (plant parents unite!) plant stands are probably something you should always have on hand. I see a sooner-than-expected trip back to Aldi in my future so I can snag one (or two).
