5th Generation Lobster Fisherman Shows off the ‘Coolest’ Lobster He’s Ever Seen

There are some things that you just have to see for yourself to believe, and this lobster that was caught by a 5th generation lobster fisherman in Maine is one of them! @Jacob Knowles shared a video of the extremely rare lobster on Tuesday, November 14th, and people were fascinated by it.

What makes this lobster so unique? Well, not only is it half blue and have normal color, but those colors are split right down the middle of its back. That makes this lobster extremely rare, but there's more. Jacob flipped the lobster over, and it's half female and half male, too!

That lobster is one that has to be seen to be believed! The odds of a lobster fisherman catching a blue lobster are one in 2 million. @Jacob goes on to say that catching a half female/half male lobster is even more rare, making this lobster probably a one of a kind.

Jacob asked people to respond and let him know whether they think he should tag the lobster and let it go or if he should keep it as a pet and see if it can reproduce with itself. With over 20 thousand comments, he said it was pretty unanimous that people want him to keep it as a pet and see what happens. @GrackleTree got more than 44 thousand likes and spoke for all of us with, "Keep it and give it a fancy life". Another commenter suggested, "You can also bring it to the local aquarium. My bro worked on lobster boat off LI. They donated a blue lobster to the local aquarium."

Jacob shared another video and asked for name suggestions. My favorite was from the commenter who had the best idea ever, "Name it Bowie after David Bowie. He had a blue eye and androgynous". Great suggestion! I'll definitely be following along to see what happens with this lobster. It's a pretty incredible story, and I'm glad I stumbled across it!
