5 THINGS TO KNOW: How children can participate in a fishing derby at Dow Lake
May 17—Organizers of an annual fishing derby at Dow Lake give information on this year's event being held Saturday.
1 When is the fishing derby?
The 7th annual Dow Lake Kids Fishing Derby will be held Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children under the age of 12 are welcome to participate.
2 When does registration start?
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Dow Lake boat ramp area. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
3 Will equipment be provided?
No, participants must bring their own fishing equipment, chairs, and drinks.
4 Will there be food?
A lunch of hot dogs and water will be provided.
5 Are there prizes?
Yes. Prizes and drawings will be awarded.
