What Is Skirt Steak?

Similar in appearance to flank steak, skirt steak is a long and thin cut of beef that comes from just under the ribs.

Is Skirt Steak the Same as Flank Steak?

No. While they do look similar and the cooking method is the same, flank steak is a bit thicker and wider than a skirt steak. The flank steak comes from the flank of a cow, below the area where the skirt comes from. Skirt steak has a bit more fat to it, making it a little more flavorful than a flank steak.
