13 Seniors From Dog Retirement Home Have the Most Beautiful Beach Field Trip
Senior dogs are just so special, and just as special are the kind senior dog rescue groups that care for these elderly dogs and try and make the remainder of their time before they cross the rainbow bridge as wonderful as possible.
One wonderful organization, Finally Home Maine, posted the following video on October 8 of their field trip to take their senior dogs out for a day at the beach.

The TikTok account for @Laurensmithkennedy posted the following information alongside this beautiful video. "Today we took our 13 senior dogs on a special trip to the beach! To make this possible, it took a team of our amazing volunteers, many doggy bags, and a parade of cars! We started the day out at the house. Each volunteer was assigned dogs to transport and look after. Since our volunteers know our dogs well, this went very smoothly! Shortly after we were on our way to Range Pond State Park. Once we arrived, our dogs made their way onto the beach area and down to the water. For some, this was their first trip to a body of water! We walked from one end to the other, letting them romp, sniff, and play! Earl, Dizzy, and Dewey seemed to LOVE the water, meanwhile Bama could be seen chasing after a butterfly. It is so very important to get senior animals enrichment and change of scenery if possible! We were sure to take things at their pace, and allowed them to rest whenever they needed it."
The photographs of these dogs are just so beautiful! TikTok users agree and @Erika comments, "All the powdered sugar faces. We truly are undeserving of such sweet dogs." @Paige adds, "Thank you so much for taking such good care of these oldies."
Not only was this field trip adorable, but it was so beneficial for these elderly dogs. Enrichment is so important for senior dogs and letting them see, smell and feel different things like sand and water do wonders for their brains and bodies.
