When I was in primary school, my mom would pack me a lunch of noodles or rice, a choice of protein, and vegetables to ensure I didn’t get hungry. Even after finishing, I would ask her for merienda, or snacks, after school. I always had a big appetite and even though I ate a lot, I had difficulty gaining weight.

It wasn’t until college I learned that I have a fast metabolism. Since I always feel hungry, I now know to increase my protein intake, including meat and beans.

Cooking beans from dried requires hours of soaking and cooking, so I just opt for canned. My favorite? 365 Whole Foods Market Organic Bean Trio.

Canned beans are one of my favorite pantry staples. They are easy to prepare, have a longer shelf life, and are an inexpensive way to get a boost of protein. While there are many brands and types out there, this particular can of beans stands out for me because it’s a blend of kidney, pinto, and black beans. I love this product because I get three different beans in one can, and I don’t need to stock up on each variety.

My Favorite Ways To Eat This Bean Trio

The 365 Whole Foods Market Organic Bean Trio is such a versatile product. I typically use it to make a classic three-bean salad or a slow-cooker ham and bean soup. The beans offer three distinct textures that are great for chili recipes. Sometimes I add them into tacos or roll them up into burritos. It’s also ideal for creamy stews with vegetables, a satisfying way to fill my body with so much goodness. Whatever I add these beans fill up my appetite and I don’t find myself feeling hungry anymore.
