The Force is strong with these food advertising tie-ins.
The Rebel Alliance and the Dark Force are dominating supermarket shelves this December as fans get ready to see the latest installment in the mega-franchise, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which opens on Dec. 18.
George Lucas has long been the master of marketing, and this film will be no different. It’s not enough to see Yoda, R2D2, and Chewbacca on the big screen — we will also see them all over our food packaging and on our plates.
We all expect branded cereal, and snacks, but this movie came with a few out-of-left field branding moves, including “Star Wars” Coffee Mate and fruit like apples and oranges.
