“I want a life of my own,” Cailee Spaeny says as Priscilla Presley in the trailer for Sofia Coppola’s highly anticipated film Priscilla, now streaming online.

More from Rolling Stone

Adapted from Presley’s memoir Elvis and Me, the A24 movie takes viewers beyond the gates of Graceland and offers a glimpse into Priscilla’s world — and her turbulent relationship with the King of Rock & Roll, starting from the time she met a 24-year-old Elvis at a party when she was 14.

Here’s everything you need to know about watching Coppola‘s latest movie starring Spaeny and Jacob Elordi as Elvis online.

“You couldn’t ask for a better person to handle this material than Coppola, who’s no stranger to depicting young female protagonists and the powerful men who enjoy keeping them locked in gilded cages, whether it be the Park Hyatt Tokyo, the Chateau Marmont, the Palace of Versailles or Graceland,” writes Rolling Stone‘s Marlow Stern in our Priscilla review. “As the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, she’s lived it, and is uniquely equipped to show what it’s like to put a big, flawed man on a pedestal only to see that pedestal crack.”

Continues Stern: “Coppola augments Elvis’s hold on Priscilla through bursts of color and sound, while every costume and car looks period-perfect. She also makes the wise choice of allowing us to see Elvis entirely through Priscilla’s eyes, sidestepping the lengthy musical performances and scenes on Hollywood sets that plague more traditional biopics. This isn’t about Elvis’s musicianship; it’s about her experience with him, and few films have so vividly captured the exhilaration, ennui, and dread of falling for a star.” (Read our full review of Priscilla.)

Where to Buy the Priscilla Soundtrack

As with so many of Coppola’s films, the Priscilla score — created by the director and the band Phoenix — plays a large role in the film, though you won’t be hearing any of the King’s tunes.

“In our early cut, I had a few Elvis songs, but only two or three — to give some impression of him,” Coppola told Rolling Stone in an interview. “But I always knew they might not give us permission, so I tried not to be too attached. I love ‘Pocketful of Rainbows.’ My husband played it for me and I listened to it a lot when we were shooting, so I really wanted to use that song. And then when he first leaves for Germany, and there’s a long sad-in-Germany montage, we had him singing ‘Are You Lonesome Tonight?’ and it was really like the voice of Elvis while she was left behind. Anyway, we couldn’t use him, so Phoenix did the instrumental, and I’m really happy with the way the music turned out.”
