Twin Mountain Tonesmen to perform “The Elements” show

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Earth, wind, fire and water will collide through the power of music at the Murphey Performance Hall this weekend thanks to the Twin Mountain Tonesmen’s “The Elements” show.

The performance is set to take place on Saturday, April 27, at 7:29 p.m. Under the direction of Mark Clark, the men’s chorus will sing a selection of songs inspired by the elements of nature, including the following works:

  • “Under the Boardwalk” by the Drifters

  • “Country Roads” by John Denver

  • “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash

  • “Feelin’ Groovy” by Simon & Garfunkel

“We will perform favorite songs about the Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water and have something for everyone,” Clark said.

The San Antonio-based All In quartet is also expected to perform as the show’s special guest headliners.

“We’re very excited to have All In back with us this year,” Clark said.  “They were here before in a high school quartet called Bentley Manor. All four are highly trained singers, and they combine their singing and professional showmanship perfectly. They are a huge hit everywhere they go.”

Other music groups are also slated to make an appearance, with the Cactus Brothers and Abilene’s Make Your Mark confirmed to be performing that night.

Formed in 1955 and reactivated in 1970-71 after a period of inactivity, the Twin Mountain Tonesmen are the San Angelo chapter of the Southwestern District of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The chorus has traveled all across the nation for Society-sponsored contests and other performances during its lifetime, winning multiple awards in the process.

Tickets are on sale for $20 at sanangelopac.org and tonesmen.org. For more information, visit the Twin Mountain Tonesmen’s Facebook page or call 947-TONE.
