Trick Williams Reflects on Winning the NXT Championhip: NXT Is In Good Hands Baby!

Last night was the first night of NXT Spring Breakin’. The main event of the event was the one-on-one match between Trick Williams and Ilja Dragunov for the NXT World Championship. Several NXT alumni from both Raw and SmackDown returned to the Black and Gold brand to witness this match.

The fan-favorite star, Trick Williams tried to take out The Mad Dragon with his signature moves such as the H-Bomb and the Torpedo Moscow. But neither of them got the job done. Finally, Williams managed to hit the Trick Knee and pinned Ilja Dragunov to win the NXT World Championship.

Following the match, Williams spoke to Sarah Schreiber in a backstage interview. During the interview, Williams mentioned that he had been fighting for this moment his whole life and assured that NXT is now in good hands.

“Man, it means the world to me, man. I’ve been fighting a long time for this. This is a testament to hard work. I’ve been fighting for this. And I come from fighters. I’ve been fighting my whole life. My Momma’s fighting night now. She in the hospital. My brother’s been fighting for a long time. It’s all good. So, I did this. It’s bigger than me. It’s not just for me, it’s for everybody. The people who love me, the people who’ve been having my back for a long time, they taught me how to fight. And I’m gonna keep fighting. I’m never gonna stop fighting. Believe that. And I love you [the NXT Universe] back. NXT, we in good hands baby! Believe that, thank you,” Trick Williams said.

During the same interview, Williams mentioned that his mother is also fighting as she’s admitted in a hospital.
