Summer movie deals for kids: Regal, AMC, Cinemark announce pricing, showtimes

AMC Theatres is offering a $5 Black History Month deal.

School lets out in a matter of weeks, and families are scrambling to find things to fill the long summer days.

Parents know that kids can't spend every afternoon at the pool. But luckily movie theaters across the country are running summer specials for family movies days.

Cinemark, Regal and AMC have all announced discounted tickets, food and more beginning in June.

Here are the details.

Cinemark's Summer Movie Clubhouse: Discounted movies, snacks

Cinemark's Summer Movie Clubhouse begins with 10 weeks of discounted movies starting June 10 and ending on Aug. 15, the theater recently announced.

Tickets are on sale now for $1.75 on Cinemark.com, the Cinemark app, and participating Cinemark box offices. Kids snack packs and popcorn and drink combos will be $1 off.

Here's Cinemark's movie lineup:

  • June 10 -13: "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem"

  • June 17 - 20: "Sonic the Hedgehog 2"

  • June 24 - 27: "Shrek"

  • July 1 - 4: "Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie"

  • July 8 - July 11: "The Lego Movie"

  • July 15 - 18: "Trolls Band Together"

  • July 22 - 25: "How to Train Your Dragon"

  • July 29 - Aug. 1: "Migration"

  • Aug. 5 - 8: "Hotel Transylvania"

  • Aug. 12 - 15: "Paddington 2"

Regal $1 Summer Movie Express

Meanwhile Regal has announced a price cut to its summer movie pass this year. Regal's Summer Movie Express will include $1 tickets to select films each Tuesday and Wednesday starting June 11 through Aug. 7, the cinema told USA TODAY.

“We are excited to welcome families, daycares, clubs, and all moviegoers back to Regal for this annual summer tradition," John Curry, senior vice president of Commercial at Regal, said in a news release.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Two films will run simultaneously at 11 a.m. in select theaters across the country.

Here is the lineup, according to Regal:

  • June 11 - 12: "Peter Rabbit" and "The Runaway Puss in Boots: The Last Wish"

  • June 18 - 19: "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" and "Angry Birds 2"

  • June 25 - 26: "Despicable Me 3" and "Migration"

  • July 2 - 3: "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and "PAW Patrol: The Movie"

  • July 9 - 10: "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" and "PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie"

  • July 16 - 17: "Clifford the Big Red Dog" and "Sonic the Hedgehog"

  • July 23 - 24: "Trolls Band Together" and "Sonic the Hedgehog 2"

  • July 30 - 31: "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile" and "Kung Fu Panda 3"

  • Aug. 6 - 7: "Minions: The Rise of Gru" and "Sing 2"

AMC Summer Movie Camp for kids

AMC Theatres will kick off its own deal for families with its Summer Movie Camp starting June 24. Their movies will run through Aug. 14.

Tickets are $3 plus tax, according to AMC.

  • July 1 - 3: "The Lorax"

  • July 8 - 10: "Sing"

  • July 15 - 17: "Sing 2"

  • July 22 - 24: "The Secret Life of Pets"

  • Aug. 12 - Aug. 14: "Despicable Me 3"
