Tom Holland has clarified his involvement with Spider-Man 4, and it’s good news for Spider-Man fans.

According to recent comments, the actor is fully hands-on in developing the next Spider-Man movie.

"This is the first time in this process that I’ve been part of the creative so early,” Holland tells Deadline.

“It’s just a process where I’m watching and learning. It’s just a really fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we’re not overdoing the same things."

In the wake of 2021's mega-successful Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was the highest-grossing Spider-Man film ever, Holland says he and his team have a legacy to protect. Marvel isn’t going for a cheap cash-in, and that seems to be the case given the long wait for a sequel.

If Spider-Man 4 is in pre-production right now, it probably won’t come out until 2026 at the earliest. That means Holland will be around 30-years-old by the time it releases, which suggests a time-jump may be on the cards given the last movie ended with his friends going off to college.

With reports Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse leads into a live-action movie, could it link up with Spider-Man 4 in some way?

There are rumors Holland was integral to the revised ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their iconic roles. Hopefully he’ll have similarly creative ideas for the sequel.

"The simple answer is that I’ll always want to do Spider-Man films," he continues. "I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I’ll always want to do more."
