Selena Gomez Brings Back Barbiecore With a Monochromatic Powder-Pink Look

We’re approaching a year since the start of the Barbie press tour. And although we are months past the blockbuster film’s summer reign, I am still singing along to Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night.” Long live Barbiecore! I say. And so does Selena Gomez, who went full Mattel doll in a monochromatic pink ensemble on Saturday.

The Rare Beauty founder had lots to celebrate last night, as she just launched a new blush collection; she marked the new product’s release with an event at New York City’s Studio 525. For the occasion, she got decked out in rosy hues. The centerpiece of Gomez’s ensemble was a button-up dress that featured a small collar, long sleeves, an A-line skirt, and a built in belt with a shiny silver buckle, all in a cherry-blossom pink shade with an oily jacquard pattern. She accented the darling frock with a long powder-pink wool coat and bubblegum-pink pointed-toe stiletto heels adorned with a bow and center pendant along the toe. Gomez finished everything off with a stack of glittering silver rings and matching star drop earrings. As for beauty, she opted for a pretty, matte makeup, complete with a watermelon-pink lip, and styled her voluminous, straight chestnut locks down behind her with her side-swept bangs slicked back.

The Only Murders in the Building star’s look is a stark contrast to the monochromatic black outfits she has been serving up. Coming off the heels of her trip to Paris in February, Gomez has been embodying Parisian-chic dressing.

Last month, she stepped out to support her co-star and friend Steve Martin at the premiere of his new documentary, Steve! (Martin): A Documentary in 2 Pieces, in a timeless black midi dress that featured a pencil skirt, long sleeves, and an off-the-shoulder construction lined with huge satin bows all around. She kept things all-black with transparent tights, glossy pumps, and a velvet clutch.

Before that, while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she looked like a coquette dream in a transparent black lace mock-neck top layered over a matching camisole, all tucked into a flouncy pleated bubble skirt. She added a wide leather belt, knee-high boots, and transparent tights, all in black.
