'Saturday Night Live' #TBT: You're welcome, from the Computer Guy

Hey genius! You’re welcome!

Saturday Night Live’s Nick Burns, the Computer Guy, memorably played by Jimmy Fallon, was the perfect embodiment of every condescending, know-it-all IT professional we’ve all had the (dis)pleasure of working with.

Big Sick star and co-writer Kumail Nanjiani hosts SNL this weekend, and he’s well-used to playing an arrogant, disdainful tech whiz on HBO’s Silicon Valley. Maybe Fallon can make a cameo so Nick Burns can butt heads with Nanjiani’s Dinesh.

The character debuted in 1999, in a sketch featuring host Jennifer Aniston. Her computer just crashed, and Nick Burns comes to save the day/aggravate everyone.

“I love teaching people remedial computers here. You guys should be wearing helmets or something,” he mutters at one point.

And of course, he always ends each session with a very (not) helpful, “YOU’RE WELCOME.”

Well, no thank you, Nick Burns!

SNL welcomes host Kumail Nanjiani and musical guest Pink this Saturday at 11:30 p.m. on NBC.
