Glow-ups have become the internet’s trending way of sharing before-and-after transformations of yourself from childhood to adulthood — a metamorphosis that leads people to become their best and most beautiful selves. But in the same vein as a “revenge body,” the glow-up is also meant to make people from your past jealous of just how glamorous your life is now. In the latest viral internet challenge aptly coined #KarmasABitch, this is exactly the intent of those sharing videos of a captivating transformation in the blink of an eye.

Inspired by a fan edit of Riverdales Veronica Lodge delivering the popular line “Oh, well, karma’s a bitch” over the soundtrack of Kreayshawn’s “Gucci Gucci” remix, the short Instagram video has sparked a trend of glow-up videos that first took off in China.

Although the original fan-edit video was posted in November, the first string of challenge videos didn’t begin circulating until January. And it’s never too late to watch the first of these incredible glow-ups.

From the viral reaction that each of the videos received, it’s evident that people quickly caught on to the trend. After the challenge eventually got a name, the videos started to become more widespread to different countries and people — now even catching on with celebrities and popular influencers, including the Riverdale star herself.

It seems that the more you watch, the more entertaining they become. Especially when people get creative by introducing cosplay into the mix or their dogs. All in all, it’s safe to say that anybody can have a glow-up.
