Report: John Mayer ‘Wants Nothing to Do’ With Scheana Shay, Denies Hookup Claims

One recurring theme of this season of Vanderpump Rules is Scheana Shay’s tendency to center certain topics around herself – like how traumatic Scandoval was. For her. There was a lighter moment of Scheana’s shenanigans in last week’s episode, though. When the group played the game Never Have I Ever, Scheana alluded to hooking up with musician/Andy Cohen bestie, John Mayer.

This wasn’t the first time Scheana’s broached the subject. However, a source says that John denies ever hooking up with Scheana. Not only that, but he is now irritated by her claims.

A source: John’s “very annoyed by the entire thing”

On last Tuesday’s episode of VPR, Scheana and her pals played an NSFW version of Never Have I Ever. One prompt was, “Never have I ever had a threesome with two dudes.”

Scheana’s husband, Brock Davies drank and confessed, “I wasn’t involved! I was in a room and there were other things going on, but there were definitely more bodies.”

In a confessional, a producer asked Scheana, “When were you in an orgy?”

Scheana teased, “Once upon a time, my body was a wonderland, I’ll say that,” clearly in a nod to John’s 2001 song “Your Body is a Wonderland.”

A source close to John recently told The U.S. Sun that the rumors aren’t true.

“John has told several people close to him that he never hooked up with Scheana. He knows that she has been telling people they hooked up well before the Vanderpump Rules episode aired and it’s gotten back to him.”

“He’s very annoyed by the entire thing and wants nothing to do with her. Scheana and John were even at a party not long ago where Andy Cohen also turned up and he tried his best to avoid Scheana,” the source added.

“She was trying her best to talk to John and even go as far as take a picture with him, but he shot her down. He was doing his best to avoid her all night.”

Ouch. Does anyone else have secondhand shame shivers?

Scheana’s made this claim for years now

Last week’s VPR wasn’t even the first time Scheana made these claims; she’s been riding this “Emoji of a Wave” for well over a decade. She talked about it in an Amazon Live in 2023 and even gave the above interview about it all the way back in 2009.

On a 2020 episode the Flashbacks podcast, Scheana said she was in a “throuple” with John. “I was living with Stacie [Adams, from MTV’s The Hills] at the time … It just became, you know, kind of the three of us, we had a little throuple going on.”

The preview for next week’s Pump Rules teases some tension between Scheana and Brock. Just in case they don’t work out, is John seeing anybody? Asking for Scheana Shay.
