Ocean City, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach stages heating up with big shows for spring

The weather is finally warming up, as is the action at beach music venues. A host of spring events are taking place in the days ahead, while tickets are also being sold for upcoming summer concerts.
Grammy winner coming to the Room at Cedar Grove
The Lewes-area dinner concert venue called the Room at Cedar Grove has a two-nighter by Grammy nominee John Ford Coley scheduled for this weekend. Known for his hits including “Love Is The Answer” and “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight,” he will perform Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, and both evenings have sold out.
Tickets are still available for a 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18 show featuring keyboard wizard Bruce Katz and his backing band ($50 includes dinner).

The Struts will be hot summer ticket at Dewey's Bottle & Cork
In Dewey Beach, tickets are set to go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, for a summer concert by British rock act The Struts. The group will return to the Bottle & Cork nightclub on Tuesday, July 30, following a 7 p.m. opening set by a fellow Brit, singer-songwriter Barns Courtney ($42).
Cork appearances by The Struts have become a semi-annual event, with five previous appearances between 2016-2022. The quartet’s current tour follows a pair of recent radio hits — “Fallin’ With Me” and “Too Good at Raising Hell.”

Listening Booth on move from Tanger Outlets, but not far
The Listening Booth, which is currently located in the Tanger Outlets Surfside shopping center on Route 1 at Midway, will soon be moving — but not far. Owner Marissa Levy Lerer announced she has acquired a space in the nearby Coastal Plaza strip mall, which is also home to businesses including Verizon Wireless and the Go Brit! Fish & Chips shop. The current Outlets location still has a few folk-rock concerts left, however, including an appearance by Canadian performer Zachary Lucky and local opening act Justin Trawick at 7 p.m., Friday, April 12 ($35).

Freddie's Beach Bar in Rehoboth open for season
In downtown Rehoboth Beach, Freddie’s Beach Bar is open for the season following a brief winter hiatus. It is located one block west of the Boardwalk in the original location of the former Frogg Pond nightclub on First Street, and is currently open Thursdays through Sundays.
Guitar virtuoso Taylor Knox will play at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11. DJ Nan will spin music at 5 p.m. Friday, April 12, prior to the 9 p.m. kickoff of the Follies at the Beach drag revue hosted by Aura Iris. Reggae-rock party act Freshly Squeezed will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 13.

Rising 'The Voice' contestant coming Sunrise Festival
Also in Rehoboth, the Schellville entertainment complex just north of the city limits has placed tickets on sale for its Saturday, June 8, Sunrise Festival. The headliner will be Delaware’s own Olivia Rubini, who received vocal coaching from Keith Urban to proceed to yet another round on NBC’s "The Voice" during the Monday, April 8, episode. There will also be a set by singer Karen Waldrup, who is one of Rubini’s castmates on the show.
