Heartstopper is making us all giddy with joy as the show comes back for its big second season. And because we already know that there are plenty of other books in the graphic-novel series, then you are probably wondering if we’re getting more of Nick, Charlies, and their friends in the future. Is Heartstopper season 3 happening?

Thankfully, Netflix didn’t make us wait too long to find out that Heartstopper will be coming back for a third season. The streamer actually renewed the show for its second and third seasons at the same time, likely because it was such a huge hit!

At least fans can rest easy for a bit and not have to worry about the series getting canceled, especially as things get more interesting between Nick and Charlie.

Have they started filming?

It looks like Netflix and the crew are just as excited as we are about the next season because they revealed that season 3 was officially back in production back in October 2023! And it can’t be a new season without a new special design on the clapperboard by the one and only Alice Oseman!

And it looks like they managed to finish it all up quickly, as they later confirmed that filming ended on December 16, 2023, just two months after they started!

What will Heartstopper season 3 be about?

The series follows the original Heartstopper graphic novels, so it will definitely continue that story. Since season 2 largely followed the third book, then season 3 will likely center around the events in book 4.

Is anyone joining the cast?

Netflix revealed that three new cast members will be joining in on Charlie and Nick's journey. Hayley Atwell will be playing Nick's Aunt Diane and Eddie Marsan is Charlie's therapist Geoff.

There's also one other major new character coming in and he's being played by none other than Jonathan Bailey and his intro video will absolutely make you swoon! He's playing Jack Maddox, Charlie's Instagram-famous crush and can we honestly blame him for falling for him?!

When will season 3 come out?

In the first day of Charlie Spring when Netflix revealed that Heartstopper will be returning in October and while we can't imagine waiting that long for it to come back, they released a special behind-the-scenes teaser that gives us a small look at what we can expect.
