Will Love in Spring Ep 16 Recap & Spoilers: Why Does Li Xian Feel Heartbroken
The modern C-drama Will Love in Spring released episode 16 on April 29, 2024. It features Li Xian and Zhou Yutong in the lead roles. The episode focuses on Chen Mai Dong (Li Xian) and Zhuang Jie (Zhou Yutong) wanting to be together. While being intimate, Chen Mai Dong attempts to remove Zhuang Jie’s prosthetic leg, which triggers her to leave. Mai Dong feels disheartened that Zhuang Jie misunderstood his intentions. He recounts hurting Zhuang Jie by calling their relationship casual and sheds tears in silence.
The next morning, Zhuang Jie visits Mai Dong’s grandmother after he leaves for work. She asks her if Mai Dong talked about her. Grandma Chen replies that Mai Dong has told her she is busy and doesn’t have time to visit her. Her answer disappoints her. At the annual school reunion, Mai Dong and Zhuang Jie come face-to-face once again. At first, they completely ignore each other, but Mai Dong takes her side when a classmate disrespects her.
As Mai Dong leaves the restaurant in anger, Zhuang Jie follows him. She apologizes to him, but Mai Dong is not ready to listen. He asks her why she didn’t tell him nicely if she was unwilling to get intimate. In a fit of anger, he tells her that her existence annoys him. Zhuang Jie can not believe her ears. The situation worsens after they call each other names.

Meanwhile, Zhuang Jie passes out while trying to leave. She has low immunity and couldn’t handle the stressful situation. This leads to Mai Dong panicking and carrying her home.
Ever since the New Year’s Eve incident with her mother, Zhuang Jie has been under a lot of stress. Her siblings talk to their mother and urge her to forgive Zhuang Jie. After the two sort things out, Zhuang Jie opens up to her mother about Mai Dong. She admits to being in love with him and tells her mother how well he treats her.
Zhuang Jie finds Mai Dong waiting outside her house. She finds comfort in his arm. Zhuang Jie opens up about why she ran her mouth that day. She mentions how she has always felt like the odd one out because of her prosthetic leg. Zhuang Jie never got comfortable enough to take it off in front of any man.
After Zhuang Jie gets better, they catch up over a meal. Zhuang expresses her opinion on love. She mentions that instead of putting a tag on it, she prefers to call her partner sweetheart. They enjoy their first snowfall together and start to get intimate. But Mai Dong stops and decides to leave. Over a call, he tells her he doesn’t care about any tags as long as he gets to be with her. He tells her that he wants to be with her forever. Zhuang Jie asks him to come back to the apartment.
