Will Love in Spring Ep 14 Recap & Spoilers: Did Li Xian’s Grandmother Go Missing?
The modern C-drama Will Love in Spring released episode 14 on April 28, 2024. It features Li Xian and Zhou Yutong in the lead roles. The episode focuses on Chen Mai Dong’s (Li Xian) grandmother going missing. As Chen Mai Dong and his team collect a body from the seashore, Mai Dong notices the deceased man’s mother blaming his girlfriend for his untimely demise. The girl’s panic-stricken face reminds him of the time he was unfairly blamed for his friend’s passing.
Meanwhile, Song Ran’s sister and Zhuang Jie catch up. After introducing herself, Song’s sister tells Zhuang Jie how she fell for Chen Mai Dong at first sight, but he never felt the same. She recounts the nightmare of the day her brother passed away fighting the hooligans who were bothering her. When they started to go after her, she called Mai Dong to boast that other men fancy her. But he asked her brother to tell her to stop bothering him. As a result, his brother came to her rescue.
The woman mentions that, after the incident, Mai Dong became her biggest support system, as he was the only person who could understand what she was going through. But she selfishly mistook his empathy for love. At this point, Zhuang Jie tries to comfort her, saying that it is okay to be selfish at times.

After returning home, Mai Dong sits in silence, dwelling on the incident at the beach. His grandmother sees him and comes to comfort him. Mai Dong mentions that the deceased boy’s mother also booked her own funeral with him. Mai Dong mentions that he will never be able to change his career or leave the town, as many people depend on him to reunite with their loved ones in the afterlife.
Grandma Chen advises him to focus on himself and his life, as they are not any less important. She tells him it will not end well if he continues to live his life for the sake of other people.
The next morning, Zhuang Jie comes to visit Mai Dong and finds that he is lying sick in bed. Mai Dong finds comfort in her embrace. Zhuang Jie asks him if he will hate her for leaving the town. Mai Dong replies that life is unpredictable and she shouldn’t sacrifice her happiness for the sake of others. Zhuang Jie wants to prove her worth in Shanghai, and Mai Dong promises not to hold her back.
The next morning, Grandma Chen visits her friend’s house, only to find it empty. She finds out that her friend has a brain tumor and doesn’t have long to live. The news breaks her so much that she aimlessly wanders around the town. When she doesn’t return home by the evening, Mai Dong gets worried. The townspeople form a rescue team and start to search for her in the nearby forest. Following a strange noise, Zhuang Jie finds her sitting in silence by a lake.
