Longstanding tradition of Celebrate De Pere returns for another year
DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – Celebrate De Pere 2024 kicked off summer with the annual celebration at Voyageur Park.
From live music to carnival rides, to local food and clothing vendors, Scarlet Walters from De Pere says there’s so much entertainment for her and her friends to enjoy.
“My friends and I really like to shop around and look at different clothes so it’s fun,” she said. “It give us something special to do and it’s kind of an excuse to see people and get out.”

“The Prince Experience, a music group from Milwaukee, was headlining the first day of the event and members of the band said they were happy to experience the full day of festivities that Celebrate De Pere put together for the community.
“That’s actually one of the parts that I was looking forward to the most, was enjoying the festival before having to work,” said AJ Kartz. “Usually we’re so like bang bang with our schedules that we like pull up to the place, load in, and then before we know it dinner and then show time so it’s nice when we have a moment to hang out because we rarely ever do.”
Iman Khan, also a member of the Prince Experience, said that what makes Celebrate De Pere unique is the excitement and energy of a big crowd in a small community park.
“I love the community aspect,” stated Khan. “Where it’s located, people are walking from their homes with their families, and it just seems like a really fun place to be.”

With fun for the entire family, Jordan Jenquin said he enjoys having an outdoor summer festival so close to home that he can bring his kids to.
“There’s gonna be fireworks, there’s always bands, there’s kid dances, there’s all sorts of stuff to do,” explained Jenquin. “It’s good to experience it, not only when I was a kid, but to bring my kids with me is amazing.
