A winner different than anyone in the near quarter-century of existence of CMT's prestigious Video of the Year trophy at the CMT Music Awards will be victorious at the event on Apr. 7, 2024.

CMT has revealed the top six finalists for a trophy won an unprecedented 10 times by Carrie Underwood.

As expected, the event's host, Kelsea Ballerini, plus Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson, some of the night's most-nominated artists, are included in that number.

Of note, 2024's CMT Music Awards features fourteen first-time nominees. That includes Amber Riley, Ashley Cooke, Bret Michaels, Chayce Beckham, Hozier, Koe Wetzel, Stephen Wilson Jr., Tyler Childers, Warren Zeiders, and Zach Bryan. Notably, too, four 2024 CMT Next Women of Country members: Anne Wilson, Ella Langley, The Castellows and Tigirlily Gold (2x), who are all up for their first-ever awards.

At the event, Trisha Yearwood will also be honored as the inaugural recipient of the June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award. A press release notes that the new honor "is inspired by the life and times of pioneering country star June Carter Cash and recognizes an artist, duo/group, or industry veteran who demonstrates exceptional dedication to the community and their fellow artists."
