Kate Hudson Shares Rare Photo of Goldie Hawn With Her Grandkids for Mother’s Day

Kate Hudson is one of many celebrities showering their mother with messages of love and thanks in recognition of Mother’s Day.

In a three-part Instagram post shared on Sunday, May 12, the Almost Famous actress paid tribute to her Academy Award-winning mother, Goldie Hawn, including a rare throwback photo of the family matriarch surrounded by several of her grandchildren.

“The most beautiful woman in the world to me! Forever and always ✨ Happy Mothers Day Mama! 🦋✨,” Hudson wrote in her caption.

The first photo included in the post was a black-and-white picture showing Hudson, 45, from behind as Hawn, 78, embraced her. The Cactus Flower actress had her arms wrapped around her daughter and her eyes closed while she flashed an open-mouthed smile. The mother-daughter duo later reappeared in a video that Hudson included in her post, showing the two dancing and waving what looked like foam light sticks as they spent time together at a party.

The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actress also included a throwback photo in her post that featured six of Hawn’s eight grandchildren. In the photo, Hawn smiled as her grandkids surrounded her. The kids—three of Hudson’s and three of her brother Oliver’s—all looked at the camera as they posed by their grandmother. Hudson’s daughter, Rani, sat in Hawn’s lap as the others gathered around them.

Though it was unclear exactly when the picture was taken, the image appeared to have been snapped before the arrival of Hawn’s youngest grandchild earlier this year. Wyatt Russell, the son Hawn shares with her longtime partner, Kurt Russell, welcomed the birth of his second son in February. Wyatt and his wife, actress Meredith Hagner, celebrated the arrival of their first child in 2021.

Several fans shared best wishes in honor of the holiday for the Fool’s Gold actress and her mother in the post’s comment section. Many kept their comments short, with some simply sending heart emojis as others echoed the same “Happy Mother’s Day” message for Hudson and Hawn.

Paris Hilton joined Hudson’s fans in sending a sweet message to the mother-daughter duo, writing, “Happy Mother’s Day beautiful😍.”
