Jonathan Majors has been sentenced to 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling after being found guilty in his assault and harassment trial. However, a judge in Manhattan’s criminal court declined to give the actor any time behind bars.

The fall from grace for the one-time MCU star began in March last year when he was arrested on assault and harassment charges after a domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. In November, a highly-publicized trial began, revealing a pattern of abusive behavior from Majors, which was corroborated by similar stories that went public around the same time.

In December, Majors was found guilty of one count of reckless assault in the 3rd degree and a charge of harassment. Following the verdict, he gave an interview in which he expressed his disbelief. “I’m standing there, and the verdict comes down, I say, ‘How was that possible? Based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence, how was it possible?’” he told Good Morning America in January.

Within an hour of the announcement of his guilty verdict, Majors was dropped by Marvel Entertainment for his MCU role of Kang the Conqueror (though recent reports suggest that the character will remain in the Marvel universe). Additionally, Majors was also dropped by his talent manager and publicist, as well as several film projects.

But Majors’ legal disputes still aren’t over. Last month, Jabbari sued him for defamation, assault, and battery, revealing even more unflattering details about his behavior. In a statement, Jabbari’s attorney Brittany Henderson said, “It takes true bravery to hold someone with this level of power and acclaim accountable… We strongly believe that through this action, truth and transparency will bring Grace the justice that she deserves.”

Majors’ legal team has said they would file counterclaims to Jabbari’s lawsuit, but nothing official has happened yet.
