Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good Hold Hands in N.Y.C. Ahead of His Sentencing Hearing

Jonathan Majors, who faces one year in jail, is awaiting sentencing following his December guilty verdict in an assault case

Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good look comfortable together days before his sentencing hearing in his New York City assault case.

Majors, 34, and Good, 42, were seen holding hands and snuggling up to each other at a park in N.Y.C. on April 5. In one photo, the Shazam! Fury of the Gods actress could be seen draping her legs over Majors' lap and wrapping her arm around his shoulders as they sat together on a bench.

The pair's appearance in N.Y.C. comes as former Marvel star prepares to receive his sentence in his criminal case following his guilty verdict in December. At that time, Majors was found guilty of misdemeanor assault in the third degree, recklessly causing physical injury, as well as harassment in the second degree in a domestic violence case related to an alleged fight between him and former girlfriend Grace Jabbari in New York City in March 2023. He faces up to one year in jail at the hearing, which is scheduled for Monday, April 8.

A source confirmed with PEOPLE in February that couple of nearly one year now live together in N.Y.C.'s Greenwich Village neighborhood, noting at the time that the pair are "solid and very much in love." They adopted a Belgian Malinois puppy together, with the pet joining Majors' other dogs.

When Good and Majors stepped out together at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles on March 16, the actress opened up to PEOPLE about her love life. Prior to her relationship with Majors, she was married to ex-husband DeVon Franklin, 45; the pair split in December 2021 after nine years of marriage.

“I'm in love, I’m transitioning, I’m healing, I’m growing [and] I’m getting excited about what's next,” Good said on the red carpet. “Yeah, just a lot of things at once. But what I can say is, I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time.”

The judge in Majors' case recently declined his attorney Priya Chaudhry's motion to set aside his guilty verdict. In response, the lawyer said Majors "feels disappointed by the outcome of the motion, yet he upholds respect for the process” in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. With the sentencing hearing looming, Chaudhry said the actor “continues to draw strength from his friends, fans, family, and dogs, harnessing his art and creativity."

In March, Jabbari sued Majors and alleged other instances of abuse, according to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE. “Mr. Majors is preparing counterclaims against Ms. Jabbari," Chaudhry said in response to the lawsuit.
