The baby has been born. It’s time to get shorn.
The actress and founder of The Honest Company documented the chopping of her “pregnancy hair” on social media. As the photos and accompanying time-lapse videos show, stylist Chad Wood — who also works with Olivia Munn and Vanessa Hudgens — lopped off several inches of the star’s length. The result: A clean, lightly layered cut that hits just below the shoulders — and out of baby’s grip.
Wood also posted a photo of his handiwork.
Acting upon Alba’s call for feedback, fans were quick to praise the look as “healthier looking” and “beautiful.” Many new moms also related to her urge for a cut, as pregnancy can affect each woman’s hair differently — from fuller growth to dryness.
“This is exactly what I did last week, got rid of my pregnancy hair,” wrote one follower.
“Feels like i need the same,” another comment said. “I look like crap after giving birth to my third kid in under three years. You look absolutely awesome with the new hair.”
No pressure, though. To quote Alba from her interview with Yahoo Lifestyle last year: “Your beauty is your own — don’t worry about trying to fit into someone else’s idea of beauty.”
