While Ina Garten is gearing up for the fall release of her highly-anticipated memoir, Be Ready When the Luck Happens—which is said to include a lot of details on her longtime marriage to husband, Jeffrey—The Barefoot Contessa just revealed a totally awwww-worthy fact about the early days of their relationship.

In a recent interview with Today, Garten opened up about the daily love letters Jeffrey sent her over the years, and where she's kept them since.

"He wrote to me every day when he was in college and then when he was in the military," she said. "And I put them all in a box. And I had that as a record. It was really quite extraordinary."

While Carson Daly joked that maybe the book would "re-inspire" Jeffrey to take up love letter writing once again, he is clearly devoted—love letters or not. In fact, Garten's husband had the final read before she sent her finished memoir to the publisher.

"He read it, the last form before it went to the publisher," she continued. "And he sat down at 1:30 in the afternoon, thinking, 'I’ll read for a few hours.' He didn’t get up until he finished it at 7:30 that night. So lovely. I was bringing him snacks so he didn’t starve to death."

Ina has been dropping hints about her book, which will include an intimate look at her childhood and marriage, for months now. However, just earlier this week, she finally debuted the cover. And in an interview with People to announce the cover, Garten revealed the reason her memoir almost didn't happen in the first place.

"I just didn't think anybody would find my life that interesting," she admitted. Her friend (and later collaborator on the book) Deborah Davis convinced it that it had to be done—and she was the only right person to do it.

"She said, 'Somebody's going to write your memoir and it should be you.' I thought, 'Oh, my God, she's right.'"

Ina Garten's memoir is available for pre-order now and will hit officially hit bookshelves October 1.
