Heidi Klum & Sofía Vergara's Sweet Friendship Extends Far Beyond Their 'America's Got Talent' Gig

When Sofía Vergara joined the judges’ panel on America’s Got Talent in 2020, she didn’t expect to find a new bestie — and it wasn’t Simon Cowell or Howie Mandel. Supermodel Heidi Klum and the former Modern Family star have grown close over the last four years, thanks to NBC’s talent competition show.

The 50-year-old supermodel revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she would love to spend more time with her BFF. “I mean, we all also do other things — so, you know, sometimes when I’m not here I do a lot of other shows… I have a lot of kids, too. So I wish I can spend more time with [my co-judges]. But I feel like we do see each other a fair amount,” she explained. “I always have like dinners with Sofia or go to her house and, you know, we do, like, girly things together.”

The talented women also have each other’s back when it comes to looking fresh when they have a long day on set. “We look at each other and it’s like, ‘You need more lipstick,’ or ‘Your hair is not right.’ We’re always taking care of each other,” Vergara added “I love that.” And she and Klum like to keep the humor up when the day drags on. “We’re always trying to have fun in between, ’cause you go crazy on the set for too many hours,” she continued.

Klum also joked that while she loved Vergara’s latest Netflix project, Griselda, she believes that the 51-year-old actress missed out on a huge opportunity. “I was upset because I was like, ‘Why couldn’t I have been one of your cousins?’ I could have been a cousin that doesn’t speak because obviously I don’t speak Spanish,” Klum laughed. “But I could have just been, you know, not speaking! I was upset.”

Griselda might not have been the right vehicle for Klum, the dynamic duo is each other’s ride or die — and Klum wouldn’t have it any other way. “You know, it’s not really work. You can’t call this work what we’re doing,” Klum told Access Hollywood in 2023. “We have a great time together off camera and on camera.”
