Gwyneth Paltrow forgot that she was in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' and the internet is amused: 'Living your best life'

When you’re Gwyneth Paltrow, the names of the blockbuster movies that you’ve made just blur together.

The Oscar-winning actress appeared as a guest on director Jon Favreau’s Netflix cooking show, The Chef Show, and was happily surprised when Favreau mentioned their time together on 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

To be fair, Paltrow’s character in Spider-Man is Pepper Potts, the same character she plays in a host of Marvel movies, including the three Iron Man movies and The Avengers saga.

Favreau, who worked on many of the same movies as an actor and producer, brought up Spider-Man when he was explaining The Chef Show, in which he appears alongside celebrity chef Roy Choi. He told Paltrow that he had actually begun working on the series when the two were making the blockbuster.

“We weren’t in Spider-Man,” Paltrow said.

After Favreau assured Paltrow that she was in the movie, she countered with, “I was in Avengers.”

He gives her a little more about what Potts was doing in the scene, and then it comes to her. And she loves it.

The internet appreciated it, too, and had plenty of zingers. For the most part, people seemed to understand how Paltrow forgot, although some pointed out that she was billed as one of the movie’s stars above other notable actors.

Paltrow’s next role is in the Ryan Murphy, Netflix series The Politician, in which she will play someone other than Pepper Potts.
