‘FBI’ Scores Three-Season Renewal at CBS

CBS is locking in its FBI franchise for next season — and in the case of the flagship series, well beyond that.

The network has given FBI a three-season renewal, which will take the series through its ninth season in 2026-27. Spinoffs FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International each received single-season pickups for 2024-25, which will mark the sixth season for Most Wanted and the fourth for International. All three dramas come from mega-producer Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment and are produced by Universal Television, where Wolf is based, in association with CBS Studios.

“The all-FBI Tuesday is a powerful force to be reckoned with on our primetime schedule,” CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement. “Dick Wolf and the talent in front of and behind the camera on all three series continue to deliver top-notch storytelling, riveting action and intrigue that has captivated a dedicated fanbase steadily across multiple seasons. We are excited to see what next season holds for all these heroic characters.”

Said Wolf, “Obviously, I’m thrilled by the pickups. We are all extremely grateful to [CBS president and CEO] George Cheeks and Amy and their entire team.”

FBI is the No. 3 show on CBS — and all of broadcast TV, excluding live sports — this season, averaging 9.11 million viewers in Nielsen’s most current linear ratings. Over five weeks of cross-platform viewing, the series averages 12.3 million viewers. Most Wanted checks in at 10.3 million viewers in the same metric, while International averages 9.6 million; all three shows have improved on last season’s multiplatform numbers.

Wolf and Wolf Entertainment’s Peter Jankowski and Arthur W. Forney executive produce all three FBI shows. The flagship series is also exec produced by Rick Eid, Alex Chapple, Amanda Slater, Joe Halpin. FBI: International’s other EPs are Matt Olmstead, Michael Katleman and Ernesto Alcalde; David Hudgins, Ken Girotti, Terry Miller and Dylan McDermott exec produce FBI: Most Wanted.

With the FBI renewals, eight of Wolf Entertainment’s nine scripted broadcast series are due to return in 2024-25 as NBC has picked up all three of its Chicago dramas along with Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU. The network has yet to make a decision on L&O: Organized Crime.
